It was 1920's flapper dresses for breakfast at Sabatini's 2011/12 show. Held at Café Sydney in collaboration with Napoleon Perdis and Bauhaus, the show interpreted knitwear into loose, fringed pieces in understated grey tones. |

This set the scene for an exploration of texture and colour, as in a geometric-inspired stitched pattern dress worn by Samantha Harris,
or a rich red crimson used in fringing and a simple, graphic print on dresses.

Interest was also added through the brightly coloured beaded Owl of Eden necklaces included by stylist Franco Schifilliti. Feathered capes and skirts brought a wild, natural element to the collection, and were paired with geometric beading across bodices and metallic beaded necklaces for a hint of tribal glamour. |

A subtle hint to kimono-style tailoring gave a nod to an Eastern influence, but underneath it all was a number of soft, minimalist pieces that balanced the collection and brought it into the modern world. |
