Paul Cezanne once said "It's so fine and yet
so terrible to stand in front of a blank canvas."

The body is a blank canvas waiting
to be transformed. It is a timeless art piece
in which clothing has been draped, stitched, beaded, and gathered - all for the purpose
of expressing oneself.

Fashion Week is not just a week of celebrity sightings & champagne.
It's a week of transformation from who
we are to what we can become.

We are the designers of our lives; we make choices that bring forth the art of possibility. We form ideas that can challenge who we are and how we are displayed to the world. It is better to transform than never to evolve or experience the journey of personal metamorphosis.

I am reminded of the Winged Victory of Samothrace poised at the top of the Galerie Daru staircase. This Greek goddess displays beauty, triumph and boldness, just as her draped clothing elegantly embraces her figure while embodying courage from within. Fashion is humanity's guide to adorning what lies beneath the external. It changes our mood and outlook, and has the ability to reflect our inward beauty in order to carry out our own victories.

Transforming yourself through fashion is a chance to define your ability to show the world who and what you represent rather than conforming yourself to what “they” think you should be, or to what is merely accepted. It is a chance to break out of the mold and take another step towards individuality.

Dare to be sincere and true to yourself.
